NOTICE REGARDING THE REQUIREMENT TO SUBMIT INSPECTION APPLICATION ACCORDING TO THE TYPES OF REGISTERED SCRAP MATERIALS ON AQSIQ LICENSE (323-2005)

To Whom It May Concern,

In accordance with the notice from General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the P.R. of China (AQSIQ), effective from October 1, 2005, all CIQ at Chinese ports will strictly follow the "Types of Registered Scrap Materials" on AQSIQ License of Registration for overseas supplier enterprise to accept their inspection applications. CIQ will not accept the inspection application of "Mixed Metal Scrap" from overseas supplier enterprise that only got category of "Metal Scrap" (Ferrous Scrap & Non-Ferrous Scrap) registered on their AQSIQ license. The same will apply to those who only got category of "Mixed Metal Scrap" registered on their AQSIQ license; CIQ will not accept their inspection application for "Metal Scrap" (Ferrous Scrap & Non-Ferrous Scrap). In responding to that, we would like to notify the relevant overseas supplier enterprise as below:

1) Overseas supplier enterprises shall base on the "Types of Registered Scrap Materials" on their AQSIQ Certificates to apply for pre-shipment inspection certificates with CCIC North America Inc.
2) All overseas supplier enterprises should state clearly the AQSIQ registration number, the corresponding registered Company name and the "Types of Registered Scrap Materials" allowed for import as specified on their AQSIQ licenses when submitting applications.
3) Overseas supplier enterprises should not file their applications with CCICNA for materials that have not been approved by AQSIQ on their licenses.
4) Overseas supplier enterprises who need to make adjustments in regarding to the "Types of Registered Scrap Materials" on their AQSIQ licenses should submit their request according to requirements in Notice No. 17 (2005) promulgated by AQSIQ.

Please pay attention to the above regulation from AQSIQ in order to prevent any loss due to detention or rejection of goods by CIQ for non-compliance to the regulation.
